Today in this world, when everything is moving at a lightning speed, it is very necessary to be fit and energetic otherwise life will wear one down. If one is fit then they are free from illness, able to function efficiently and cope with emergencies and also enjoy life to its fullest. A healthy body also means a healthy mind.

Taking care of one’s health does not only mean working out in the gym- it can also be done in other ways. One can do routine exercise in the form of dance, learning a new sport, which also act as a learning process. One can do yoga, which provides relief not only to the body muscles, which get strained at the end of the day, but also relieve the mind. One can also grab a friend or family member and go for a walk or jog in the morning for an hour or so. If time does not provide for the same, then a simple alternative could be to walk to a store instead of taking a transport. Any sort of physical exercise is good.

One can also opt for a healthy diet.  Of course, a healthy diet does not mean that one has to stay thin or deprive oneself of the food that one loves to eat and get into strict nutrition philosophies. Healthy eating begins by learning how to eat smart; it’s not what one eats but how one eats which is the question. It is not possible for a person to change one’s eating habits overnight so a person can start slowly. Eating small portions every two to three hours is also good way of preventing oneself from staying hungry. Or having a heavy breakfast and cutting down on lunch and dinner is also a good option, as people say, “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper”. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and so people who think cutting down on breakfast will help them reduce weight or keep fit are wrong. After a good night’s rest, the blood sugar or glucose levels run low as one stays without food for 6 to 8 hours, so in the morning,  having a good breakfast  helps  break that fast and replenish those glucose levels and provide energy for the whole day.

Besides these, in order to be fit and healthy, it is very necessary to have a good night’s sleep for at least 7-8 hours. One should always try to be happy and cheerful as that also plays a big part in staying healthy; joining a laughter club can also be helpful in this case. The more a person is stressed, the more his or her health is bound to deteriorate.

So nowadays in such stressful times it is mandatory to stay fit and healthy in whatever way possible. By doing that, a person stays energetic and can perform his or duties properly and efficiently without being tired all the time. Life is short so one should enjoy to its fullest but at the same time one should also be careful about their health. Being a couch potato and getting lazy is not a very intelligent thing to do. One should always feel energized.
