A crash diets is easily the worst way to lose weight. It not only affects your body but it also affects your mind. Mental stress receives a boost and yes you do lose weight but along with it you lose some sanity as well. The youth is mesmerized by the way our celebrities look on screen and the way our models look in magazines and hoardings. They want to emulate them, but the replication comes at a price.

Models and actors get paid to look good. They get paid to eat well and keep their body in shape. No actor would go on an unhealthy binge and cost themselves their career. Their careers depend on their appearance and if they cannot keep up to what the audience wants, they will fail. However most actors today follow a healthy diet and exercise to lose weight and stay fit. Crash diets are not something they rely on to stay thin.

And when they do, they stop eating, start working out for hours in the gym and lose their weight but gain it back on after they have resumed their unhealthy eating habits.

Metal Disorders:
Crash diets not only affect your physically but also affect you mentally and emotionally. People who take on crash diets on a regular basis tend to be prone to depression. Also those who diet to lose weight fast can develop mental food disorders like anorexia and bulimia.

Nutritional Deficiency: When you go on an unhealthy crash diet, your body is obviously not going to get all the nutrition it needs. Foods that are low calorie are harmful because if they are consumed for a high period of time they can lead to a number of nutritional deficiencies that they are unable to provide.

When you intake foods that do not have the required amount of nutrition you could develop iron deficiencies, sodium and potassium deficiencies and Vitamin B12 deficiency. Potassium and sodium in particular are extremely important for the body to function properly they help in regulating and assisting muscle and nerve functioning. If you do not have enough of these nutrients in your body, you could suffer a heart attack.

Organ Damage: Long term crash diets can affect the vital organs in your body which include your heart, lungs, kidneys and liver. Your vital organs need energy from carbohydrates. During a crash diet the intake on calories and carbohydrates is a minimum and therefore enough energy cannot be generated thereby affecting the functioning of the vital organs.

People who take on crash diets to lose weight suffer from osteoporosis which is a condition of brittle bones as they age. These are however just some of the ill effects of crash diets. And if you want  lose weight the healthy way you have to ensure that you include enough calories, carbohydrates and nutrients in your diet so that your body can stay healthy and help you in your task of weight loss.
